Kit lenses don't always have a good reputation for performance, especially when they have a longer than usual focal range like this one, but in fact the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM is a real cracker, offering very good sharpness right across the zoom range – though like many Canon RF lenses it relies on digital corrections applied in Performance. For such a light and compact lens, the Canon RF 24mm f/1.8 IS STM performs admirably, and anyone who has used the Canon RF 35mm or RF 85mm lenses will be able to seamlessly switch between those lenses and this one.
